Latest: Kebe, Akpan & Carrico

Injury update from Hogwood Park

Royals boss Nigel Adkins has revealed that Jimmy Kebe and Hope Akpan are both unlikely to feature against Liverpool this weekend.

Kebe has been sidelined with a groin problem picked up at Goodison Park in early March, whilst Akpan limped off at half time during our clash with Southampton after picking up an ankle injury early on in the game.

"Jimmy is close but it's fair to say he's not going to be ready," said Adkins. "Hope came off last weekend and it's very unlikely he'll be fit. Obviously Feds was out for a while with an ankle injury and he just rocked it towards the end of the game, you could see that, so we've got one or two little niggles, which every club has at this moment in time."

The manager was also asked about Daniel Carrico - and said he was pleased with the midfielder's progress.

"Daniel has trained very well this week, he's a player who hadn't figured previously but has only been here for a short period of time. I've experienced it myself with players at previous football clubs, if you come from another country it takes a little settling in period. You've got to get used to the level, the tempo and the speed. Your family has to settle in, you have to get used to everything. But Daniel trained very well this week. I'm really pleased with him."
