Obita returns, Hector shines

Royals winger Jordan Obita has returned to the club after completing his loan spell with Oldham Athletic.

The 19-year-old will train back at Hogwood Park on Thursday afternoon, after making nine appearances for the Latics and scoring in their FA Cup clash with Everton.

"Reading have a new manager and Jordan is keen to go back and impress him," said Athletic boss Lee Johnson.

"I would like to thank Jordan for his service and also to his parent club for allowing him to join us."

Elsewhere defender Michael Hector has extended his stint with Cheltenham Town until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old pens a youth loan deal and will be eligible to play for the Robins should they reach the playoffs, though Reading do have a 24 hour recall clause.

"Michael has been superb for us and I'd like to thank Reading for allowing us to keep him." said Cheltenham manager Mark Yates.

"He is a good young defender and he has done really well since being here. He's a young player but he has a big future and it was important that we were able to keep hold of him until the end of the season."

Jake Taylor has returned to Madejski Stadium after completing his loan spell with Crawley Town - and captained Reading under 21s to a 1-0 win over Norwich City on Monday.
