Boss: Karacan was superb

18 August 2013

Praise for two-goal hero

Manager Nigel Adkins rightly heaped praise on midfielder Jem Karacan after his man of the match display against Watford.

The Turkish midfielder scored two goals in a pulsating 3-3 draw, and was once again instrumental in the middle of the park.

The boss said, "Jem did fantastic, we wanted to keep him on but he was totally shot. He'd run out of steam, but he was superb.

"He scored two, and the workrate he and Jobi put through was phenomenal on that side."

In addition, the boss reserved praise for Adam Le Fondre, who scored a magnificent left-foot volley to open the scoring in the first half.

Nigel commented, "I was made up for Alfie because he works hard. A goal like that, you have to savour it.

"You can also look forward to many more to come because he's a natural finisher.

"We played a diamond with the two strikers apart and Royston in the diamond, I thought both strikers were a threat."
