International call-ups

7 August 2013

Royals on duty for countries

A number of Royals have received international call-ups for friendlies taking place w/c 12th August.

New boy Danny Williams has been included in the United States' squad to travel to Bosnia & Herzegovina for a friendly on Wednesday 14th August, and will be hoping to stake a claim in the side ahead of their final few World Cup 2014 qualifiers. The Stars and Stripes are currently top of their qualifying group.

There could be Royals on either side of one international friendly, as Stephen Kelly's Republic of Ireland play Chris Gunter and Hal Robson-Kanu's Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on the 14th. Kelly has already gone head to head with a club team mate on the international stage this year, as ROI earned a draw against England in June - Alex McCarthy was an unused substitute.

Kaspars Gorkss will also be on duty - Latvia travel to Estonia for a friendly on the 14th of August.

And last but not least, young defender Sean Long has also been called up. The Republic of Ireland U19s will face Norway in Ireland on the 13th and 15th of August.
