Winger heads to Selhurst Park
Reading Football Club can confirm that winger Jimmy Kebe has joined Premier League side Crystal Palace.
The midfielder was signed whilst on loan at French Second Division side Boulogne in January 2008, the permanent deal bringing him to Berkshire and away from parent club Lens.
The Malian international, who turns 30 in January, went on to make 160(+30) appearances for the Royals, scoring 31 goals along the way – including the club’s fastest ever goal at home to West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup in 2010.
He made 16 starts in our Premier League campaign last season, but has not featured for the first team since a 3-1 defeat at Everton at the start of March.
After completing a medical at Selhurst Park, the paperwork has now been finalised allowing him to join Ian Holloway’s side on a three-year deal.
Director of Football Nick Hammond said, “I’d like to thank Crystal Palace’s Owner and Chairman Steve Parish and Chief Executive Phil Alexander for the way they have dealt with these negotiations.
“We wish Jimmy all the very best for the future and thank him for his contribution to the success of our club over the last five and a half years.”
