McCleary positive ahead of BoltonGarath McCleary wants the Royals to build on their opening day win over the season, but expects a tough test on Saturday when we face promotion candidates Bolton.
The winger says he's enjoying a new 'lease of life' under manager Nigel Adkins and if confident for this weekend's game after a very positive week on the training ground.
"Ever since the gaffer has come in it's been like a new lease of life. I've thrived under it and long may it continue," he told Reading FC Player.
"Training has gone really well, the gaffer has implemented what he wants us to do against Bolton, and I think it'll be an interesting game.
"I saw them at the back end of last season and they were pushing for the top six, but unfortunately they didn't get there. They'll be pushing for promotion but we'll just concentrate on ourselves and hopefully get the three points.
"It's always good to get through pre-season and get the first three points under your belt. It's been a good week so hopefully we can build on it."
Garath also paid tribute to our supporters, who have set a club record for season tickets, and says they will be vital to the team's success in the Sky Bet Championship this year.
"Especially when we went 2-1 up against Ipswich, you could hear the support from our fans," he added. "It was brilliant, and hopefully home and away the fans can still bring a massive following like they have done.
"It's a very tough Championship this year. Some of the signings that some clubs have made have been excellent. And we've 2-3 very good players in every position, so there's competition for places and everyone needs to be on their a-game."
