27 August 2013

Adkins shuffles pack for Peterborough clash

Royals boss Nigel Adkins makes nine changes to the starting eleven that lined up at Blackpool on Saturday afternoon, Chris Gunter and Hal Robson-Kanu the men to retain their places.

Kaspars Gorkss takes the captain's armband and partners Adrian Mariappa at the back, Adam Federici starts between the sticks, while Shaun Cummings gets his first minutes of the season in defence.

In midfield, Hope Akpan and Jordan Obita get their first starts of the campaign and Danny Williams is in the starting eleven for the first time since signing for the Royals in the summer. Pavel Pogrebnyak and Adam Le Fondre lead the line.

Stephen Kelly doesn't feature this evening after his wife went into labour. A few others miss out with knocks and injuries, but the bench is a strong one - six of the seven were starters at Bloomfield Road at the weekend.
