"We can be better"

18 August 2013

Karacan looks to improve

Man of the match Jem Karacan believes the Royals can still improve after their 3-3 draw with Watford on Saturday afternoon.

The Academy product bagged a brace in a thrilling clash with Gianfranco Zola's men, but admitted he was frustrated not to hold on for all three points.

"There's an element of fortune for their third goal, but we can still be better, we can react better," said Jem.

"That happens in a game of football and you have to be there first. But now we have to bounce back - there's a big game next week against Blackpool and a chance to get three points on the board. I think I've only got a couple of goals at the Madejski before Saturday, so its nice to get goals in front of the fans, but at the end of the day I'd rather not get any and win the game."

Those fans were in superb voice, creating a fantastic atmosphere with an equally vociferous travelling support.

"Since I've been here, I've played a lot of games here now and that was one of the best atmospheres we've had. For me it was great to hear, we have a great set of fans and when you are on the back foot you need that. Its a tough week coming up, with Blackpool, Peterborough and Yeovil. But that's the Championship, the games come thick and fast and we have a quality squad to deal with it."
