Academy cruise past Norwich

Norwich 0
Reading 3 (Fridjonsson 20, 35, Taylor-Crossdale 65)

The Royals Academy prepared perfectly for their FA Youth Cup clash with Leeds United this Friday, with a 3-0 away win over last year's winners Norwich City in the Under 18s Premier League.

The Canaries picked up the prestigious trophy in May with a 4-2 aggregate win over Chelsea, but couldn't contain a rampant Reading side this weekend - who took a two goal lead into the break thanks to midfielder Sammi Fridjonsson.

The Icelandic under 19 international now has five goals in seven games, whilst substitute striker De'Jaune Taylor-Crossdale fired home just after the hour mark to seal the victory.

Our Academy now head up to Elland Road for Friday's third round clash (kick off 7pm) - with live updates of course available on our Twitter feed

Reading: Ward, Watson, McLennan, Hyam, Dickie, Kuhl, Stacey, Fridjonsson (Shaughnessy 45), Kelly, Fosu, Cardwell
Subs: Shaughnessy, Husin, Taylor-Crossdale, Jules, Owusu
