Team News
Royals: Chris Gunter will serve his one match suspension after the red card picked up against Forest on Friday evening. Royston Drenthe is close to a return after travelling with the squad to the City Ground, though Chris Baird is sidelined with an ankle problem. Sean Morrison, Wayne Bridge, Jem Karacan, Mikele Leigertwood and Jason Roberts remain in the treatment room.
Charlton: Former Royals stopper Ben Hamer is likely to miss out with an ankle injury, so Ben Alnwick keeps his place. The game is likely to come too soon for Chris Solly to return from a knee problem, and fellow defender Leon Cort, who also has a knee problem, is out.

In quotes
Royals boss Nigel Adkins: ""We've won one and drawn one in two away matches, before that we drew with QPR who you would expect to be up there, now it's two at home and we've got to capitalise on that. We need everyone to get behind the players in those games and see if we can get maximum points from them."
Reading midfielder Jordan Obita: "I find I tend to go on a run of goals after I get my first, which I'm hoping happens now. That's what I want to do - I want to score goals for this club."
Charlton Boss Chris Powell: "We haven't scored enough, that is in black and white. We don't concede too many for a side in the bottom half but goals win games. You need to score, even if you just nick one that can be enough."
