Fans feature in The Royal

6 December 2013

Supporters in our Showcase

Our matchday magazine The Royal is paying tribute to the history of the club's supporters this weekend, with a Showcase feature on our fans.

Each week the programme has produced a 15 page reversible booklet, dedicated to a different theme for every match - and with Saturday the anniversary of the creation of the club's first ever supporters club, it was a perfect opportunity to look back over the years.

From those early days at Elm Park, to seeing off Robert Maxwell in the 1980s, trips to Wembley and more light-hearted moments like PANTS Day at Madejski Stadium, it's all covered - and you may even spot yourself in our selection of photos!

Naturally there's plenty of content packed into the other 69 pages of this weekend's edition. Read an exclusive interview with our young star Jordan Obita, who speaks about his emergence into the limelight this season, or cast your eye over the plans for our new training ground at Bearwood Park.

There's the usual notes from Nigel Adkins and Jobi McAnuff, whilst Club Historian David Downs looks back at the legend of Jimmy Wheeler. In addition readers can get stuck into the usual selection of quizzes and competitions - with copies of the latest Jake Bugg album available to win.

The programme is still only £3, remains perfect bound, 84 pages long and jam-packed with features. You can buy your copy from one of our two programme pods at the ground, from our sellers dotted around the stadium concourses, from the megastore and the Ticket Office - and if you miss a copy you can even buy your issue online at
