Green Park station plans

5 December 2013

Good news for supporters

This week it has been reported that Reading Borough Council are re-visiting plans for a railway station in Green Park.

The station would of course be good news for the club and our supporters, and Stadium Manager Ray Booth said, “The Green Park Railway Station was included in the transport considerations for the stadium expansion plans and so this is pleasing news.

"The A33 corridor has become much busier with traffic in recent years as gradually Green Park businesses are flourishing and so any shift from the car to public transport is welcomed, not only with regard to stadium transport, but the neighbouring businesses as this all has an influence on traffic levels.

"It is our intention for the public’s experience when visiting the stadium to be as pleasurable as possible, and as was so well illustrated at the Olympic Games the use of sustainable public transport is a key consideration."
