Injury news: Williams fit

5 December 2013

Danny available for Bournemouth

Royals manager Nigel Adkins confirmed that Danny Williams is available for this Saturday's game with Bournemouth.

The midfielder came off in the second half of our 1-0 victory over Charlton with a calf concern, but has come through a recovery session well and remains fit for selection.

"Everyone else has come through the night well. We had a couple of good recovery sessions and we go into the game full of passion and love for the game," he told Reading FC Player.

"I think we did right by taking him off, and he's been OK this (Thursday) morning. I don't envisage any problems at all for his availability for the weekend."

Chris Gunter will be back from his one-match suspension, Royston Drenthe is edging close to a return while Chris Baird, Wayne Bridge, Sean Morrison, Mikele Leigertwood, Jason Roberts and Jem Karacan continue their recovery.

"We're all good from the other night," the boss added. "I highlighted in my programme notes the guys that are going to be out - six long term ones, if you like, who are not going to be involved in the Christmas period. Hopefully Chris Baird might be available for the latter stages of the Christmas period.
