Boss speaks on trio
Nigel Adkins confirmed after the Leicester game that both Garath McCleary and Jordan Obita was due to start but had to be sidelined with illness.Obita was forced to stay behind in Berkshire on Christmas Day, while McCleary travelled with the team and had to take a place on the bench as we only had 18 players available at the King Power Stadium.
Asked about the withdrawals, the manager said, "We were disrupted when we lost a couple of players through injury in Obita and McCleary.
"We worked on our shape on Christmas Eve and both were due to start. But that's why you have a squad, and like everyone we have to deal with it and there's never any excuses.
Hal Robson-Kanu has picked up a knee injury so was not available, and the boss hopes he will be back 'sooner rather than later.'
