'Our luck will turn'

Cummings analyses 'Boro game

Full back Shaun Cummings says the Royals must stick together as they look to recover from Sunday's 3-0 defeat away at Middlesbrough.

"That's just the way it has been going for us at the moment, we've been missing that bit of luck that we probably need," the Jamaican told readingfc.co.uk.

"But we've just got to hang in there and hopefully things will turn. When they do turn, we'll aim to kick on."

Shaun has played in all of Reading's last six fixtures at left back, a position the right-footed defender feels comfortable at - ahead of the New Year's Day fixture with Nottingham Forest at Madejski Stadium.

"I don't mind it to be fair," Shaun said of his role at left back. "It's just the same as right back but it's on the other side and you have to use your left foot more. I've also got the option to cut inside on my right. I'm getting a run in the team which I'm grateful for, and I'll just keep doing what I can for the team and keep my performances up.

"We always strive to win. We had two away games so hopefully now we're back at home, we can do the job and hopefully kick start our season.

"Forest are a team that are always in and around the play-off spots. It's going to be a good game - you can't write anyone off in this league. We've just got to focus on our performances. Obviously we did beat them earlier in the season but that's gone and we have to focus on the home game."
