Youngsters in cup action

19 December 2013

Academy and 21s hope to progress

Reading's Academy and under 21 sides have cup fixtures to look forward to over the next few weeks, as both look to build on solid starts to their respective competitions.

Our under 18s picked up a superb 3-1 away victory over Leeds in the FA Youth Cup Third Round, and had their Fourth Round opponents confirmed on Tuesday evening - as Crewe Alexandra overcame Bristol Rovers.

The Royals will take on the Railway Men at home - with the tie taking place on Wednesday 22nd January, kick off 7pm at Madejski Stadium.

Our 21s side won't have to wait quite so long for their next Premier League Cup clash - as they take on Watford next Monday at Basingstoke's Camrose Ground.

Martin Kuhl's side earned the tie with the Hornets after an impressive 3-1 win over Queens Park Rangers in the opening round of the competition.

Kick off at the Camrose is at 7pm. Adult tickets are priced at £3, over 65 and under 16s at £2 - whilst Royals and Basingstoke season ticket holders can also gain entry for £2.
