Royals striker fronts up
Striker Noel Hunt has called for Royals players and fans to come together as they look to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat to Wigan on Saturday.
The Irishman was speaking after a disappointing loss to the Latics, and also took to Twitter to chat with supporters about the game.
“We're pleading for them (the fans) to stay with us,” said Noel.
“It's the Premier League and you need all the help you can get. I don't know if they realise how important they are - because there are some players that really respond to the fans. They are like the 12th man - that's the way it's been for years. Especially at the Madejski we need noise, we need atmosphere. It was a bad day at the office but we're picking ourselves up and getting ready to go again next week. We just need to move on quickly.”
Speaking via his @boyhunt Twitter account – ‘Hunty’ also had a direct message for the supporters.
“I know fans are disappointed about yesterday's result and rightly so!!! It's hurts me and the players just like it does the RFC fans,” he tweeted.
“I do understand!! It's gut wrenching for me personally! I understand you guys pay a lot to watch! I have nothing but pride when I put on the Reading shirt!! It was a hard day for the hole club yesterday believe me!”
