Defender aims to build on Toon win
Alex Pearce put Saturday's victory at Newcastle United down to an "absolutely enormous effort" from the Royals.
Reading came from behind to win for the second week in a row - and a delighted Pearce dedicated the three points to the hardy Royals supporters who traveled up to Tyneside amid hazardous weather conditions.
"We've gone and got our first away win of the season and we'll be looking to build on that now and really kick on," Pearcy said.
"It was an absolutely enormous effort from us today and I want to say a big well done to everyone - it was fantastic.
"I can't say enough about the fans - they're absolutely fantastic. To get up to Newcastle however they could and support the team. We had a good following and we made sure we put in a good shift for them.
"We made sure we all went over to them at the end and clapped them. I really can't say how much we appreciate them coming to support us."
Alex had praise for the two Adams - Federici and Le Fondre - after some vital saves and clinical finishes inspired Reading to victory.
"Feds made some great saves in the first half and kept us in the game. Then Alfie came on and does was he does - puts it in the back of the net and we win 2-1.
"He's a nightmare to train against - you can keep him out of the game for the whole training session but then he'll pop up with a goal!
"He's a real goal-poacher, but he's more than that. He has his touches, holds the ball up when he can and did a great job for the team on Saturday."
