Best stats from Toon victory

This weekend's fantastic match at St. James’ Park was noteworthy for a number of reasons – and not just in the immediate context of our current Premier League season. has dug a little deeper in to the victory – to bring you the stats some may have missed!

The Win

 The win was the Royals’ first ever win at St. James’ Park. In fact, before Saturday Reading had lost every single one of their seven clashes at the ground – by an aggregate score of 23-4!

 The victory was only Reading’s eighth away win in the Barclays Premier League – in 50 attempts.

 It’s only the second time in the last two seasons Newcastle have lost at home after taking the lead

Adam Le Fondre

  That brace took Adam Le Fondre to eight Premier League goals for the season – and 10 goals in all competitions

 Adam now has 22 goals in 27 (+28) games for the Royals. That's 55 appearances overall - a goal in every 2.5 games that he appears. 

  Le Fondre has scored one goal for every 119.8 minutes of Premier League football this season – a better goals/minutes ratio than Michu, Luis Suarez, Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney. 

  Daniel Sturridge (a goal every 93 minutes) is the only English striker with a better goals/game ratio than Adam in the Premier League this season. *

  Alfie has scored four of his last five shots at goal (excl. blocked shots) in the Premier League. Lethal.
