Royals in Portugal
The Royals have a 27-man squad for our week-long training camp here in Portugal.
After a 5:30am start in England, the Royals arrived safe and sound in Lisbon airport at lunchtime on Sunday and then travelled by coach to their training camp for the week.
The group were straight down to work, training on Sunday evening. With the season less than three weeks away, a week of intense work awaits and we have two friendlies scheduled for Tuesday and Friday evenings.
Midfielder Mikele Leigertwood has not travelled, having undergone ankle surgery in May. Hal Robson-Kanu is not likely to feature in the friendlies because of injury, while Jason Roberts will not be available to play until beyond the start of the season.
Youngsters Jake Taylor and Jordan Obita are on the trip, while newly-signed trio Wayne Bridge, Royston Drenthe and Danny Williams are also on board, as is new first team coach Dean Wilkins.
Goalkeepers: Adam Federici; Alex McCarthy; Stuart Taylor
