Forward out to impressNick Blackman has played well on the club's pre-season training camp in Portugal, and he is keen to keep impressing manager Nigel Adkins.
The 23-year-old played in the number 10 role in both of our friendly games, and continues to be a good attacking option for the boss.
Speaking live on Reading FC Player and BBC Berkshire, Nick said, "It's been a really good trip and everyone has put a lot of hard work in and got a good level of fitness out of it.
"On Friday the opposition really came flying out of the traps in the first half, played some good football and managed to get a goal, but the boys did well to claw it back and kick on in the second half."
Asked to assess his contribution on the pitch in the two games, he said, "I've been very pleased with how I've played, I thought I did well tonight but so did all the boys."
He has shown good versatility since joining the club in January, and said, "I'm able to play in a few positions which I think goes in my favour and helps the team. The gaffer is trying to get that front four to have a good rotation and play anywhere, hopefully I can be part of that.
"We've got a really important ten months, a lot of work ahead but the boys are all really looking forward to it."
