Skipper spurred on for new challenge
Jobi McAnuff says the Royals are reinvigorated ahead of the new 2013/14 season under Nigel Adkins in the Championship.
The Royals have bounced back from disappointments in the past as the skipper pointed out, and he feels that the side have their bit between their teeth for the forthcoming season.
"You've got to overcome it," Jobi explained. "That changing room after the play-off final defeat in 2011 was a bad one to be in, and we made sure not to go through that again. Next year, we obviously went up as Champions.
"So we'll use last year as a lesson, and something to really spur us on for this season."
The forthcoming campaign will be McAnuff's fourth at Reading, and the midfielder says he feels completely at home at Madejski Stadium.
"Anyone that knows me or has followed my career will know that it's the longest amount of time I've spent at a club," he added.
"I feel very much part of the club, I've enjoyed my time here so far immensely. I guess those good times are not as good if you haven't had a few bad moments."
