"This team will achieve"

5 July 2013

Roberts confident for 2013/14

Jason Roberts has every faith that Reading will succeed under manager Nigel Adkins in 2013/14, and has vowed to play his part in that as he aims to recover from injury.

The striker also firmly believes that the Royals are in a far better position than they were 18 months ago.

"Is the club in a better position that it was 18 months ago? I think everyone will say that it is," Roberts said.

"Getting promoted a year ago was a fantastic thing to achieve, and I believe this team will go on to achieve more. Yes, there has been a change in manager and change in philosophy - but those are real men in the dressing room and I believe that they will come good.

"Success for this side isn't just promotion, but staying in the Premier League. We understand it won't be easy but we want to bounce back at the first available opportunity.
"Being injured isn't ideal and not being able to play games is never ideal but whenever I've been challenged in my career, I'd like to think I've always come back stronger for it, and this will be no different."

Roberts was speaking to the cameras at Reading FC for our club documentary - which you can watch for free by clicking here, or watching below.
