A campaign in the community

11 June 2013

The players doing their bit...

The Reading squad have always strived to offer an exemplary level of support to the local community, with particular focus placed upon fan engagement, social inclusion and to offer various exciting experience opportunities to our junior supporters club – the Young Royals.

This year has been no different, with 25 members of the squad taking part in over 100 hours worth of visits throughout the season. The players have made their mark on some fantastic causes throughout this time, including a visit to the children’s ward at Royal Berkshire Hospital, taking part in young offenders rehabilitation programmes at Reading Prison, and revisiting former junior football clubs to instil words of advice to budding future stars.

On top of these special causes, the Club aims to reward supporters by giving them the opportunity to meet their heroes. Various signing sessions, and fans forums have taken place once again, at a variety of locations throughout the Thames Valley.
Next season we aim to reach out to even more Reading fans and causes, and you can keep up to date with these initiatives by keeping one eye on the Reading FC social media streams.
