From David Beckham to Zinedine Zidane, the early parts of our new 'My Football Idol' series have drawn on some world class names from the beautiful game.
So far Hope Akpan, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Lawson D'Ath have shared memories of the men that inspired them as a youngster, and the latest to reveal all is our fledgling forward Dominic Samuel.
The 19-year-old striker was one of the youngest players to play in the top flight last season, and has set his sights on emulating a Reading hero of recent years...
Dominic's Football idol....Shane Long!
"Growing up as a player at Reading, I always looked up to Shane Long. He came from the youth ranks too and to be where he is now, playing in the Prem week in and out is a great achievement, I want to follow in his footsteps. He was fantastic to watch and to learn from. Outside of Reading, it was Torres. He’s the complete striker and that’s how I want to be when I’m older. I’m a Chelsea fan and Torres has always been class, he’s the other one I look up to."
