Keeper signs contract

25 June 2013

Henly signs until 2015

Goalkeeper Jonathan Henly has signed a new contract to stay at Madejski Stadium until the summer of 2015.

Jonathan was on the bench for two games in the Barclays Premier League last season, and also furthered his development with a number of appearances for Scotland's under 19s.

We have an excellent history of goalkeepers here at Madejski Stadium, and 19-year-old Jonathan has come through our Academy ranks before training under goalkeeping coach Sal Bibbo. In fact, he has been a Royal for the best part of nine years already.

He has made a positive number of steps in his progress, including travelling with our first team for the pre-season tour of Portugal last summer before being named substitute in March both away to Everton and at home to Aston Villa. In addition he was a regular in our under 21s squad.

All paperwork was submitted to the football authorities today, and we would like to wish Jonathan the best of luck at this next stage of his career. You can wish him good luck on Twitter @JonHenly
