My Seat: Concession

18 June 2013

From a student perspective

Royals supporter Euan Cunningham, a student at Leeds University tells us what it's like to follow Reading from afar, what his seat means to him and his predictions for next season. Euan fits the 17-21 Concession price bracket for 13/14 Season Tickets - which works out at just £10 per game! Click here for more information - the deadline to renew is June 28th!

Being a student away at Leeds University, it can be tough following the Royals from afar. As most of my fellow students support local teams, I came in for a fair amount of stick this year!

My seat at the Madejski symbolises life in Reading - and generally, its what I think about when the cold, wet Leeds weather comes rolling in, and the work keeps piling up! It wasn't easy, but I managed to get back to a fair few games this year, including the first game against Stoke, that crazy game against Fulham, and those late, wonderful wins over West Brom and Sunderland.

Generally, it's what I based my trips home around. And while I'm away I do miss the routine of each match; the banter with my neighbours in B15, North Stand, Row N, the surge of anticipation before the teams come out, and of course the drama and passion of the match.

I hope we can finish in the top six next season - while I probably won't be able to get to more than 8/9 games next year, I will undoubtedly remain a Loyal Royal in exile.

I find the concession price band between U16 and adults very useful! Particularly as the club have put on offers in the past that allow friends in for a good deal. I think the price is still extremely reasonable!
