Adkins meets the players

Nigel and Andy watch training

Newly appointed Royals manager Nigel Adkins met with the squad for the first time at Hogwood Park on Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after he was announced as first team manager, Adkins headed down to the training ground with his new assistant Andy Crosby, owner Anton Zingarevich and director of football Nick Hammond to meet the players and watch training - taken by Eamonn Dolan, David Dodds and Martin Kuhl. A staff meeting was also called, to give the pair a chance to speak with coaches.

"It's a good football club, Reading. Spirited, good support base, they get behind the team, the players are highly motivated and they were the Champions last season," Adkins said.

"Already, just spending the morning at the training ground, you can tell there's a family environment and a feel-good factor all about the place. I'm really looking forward to working here."
