Injury Update

7 March 2013

Feds out, Kebe doubtful

Brian McDermott has confirmed that Stuart Taylor will continue to deputise in goal on Saturday as Adam Federici's sprained ankle rules him out.

The manager also said that Jimmy Kebe is a doubt for the Barclays Premier League match with Aston Villa after picking up an injury at Goodison Park last weekend.

Long-term absentees Alex McCarthy and Jason Roberts are continuing to progress but are no ready to return yet.

In his press conference on Thursday morning, Brian said: "He (Federici) has quite badly sprained his ankle - he'll be out for a little bit longer. But knowing Adam as I do, he'll get back quick because he's that that kind of character.

"Alex McCarthy's training a lot more now - he'll probably join in with the group next week which is good news for us. Jason Roberts is not available just yet. Jimmy Kebe has got a knock, whether he'll be available at the weekend I don't know.

"There's no problem with Stuart (Taylor). He's been fantastic at this club since he's been here and I thought he was excellent at Everton."
