Players called up for national teams

A number of Royals have been given the nod to represent their country from next week.

Jamaica trio Jobi McAnuff, Adrian Mariappa and Garath McCleary will all be involved in the Reggae Boys' CONCACAF World Cup 2014 qualifiers.

They take on Panama in Jamaica on 22nd March before facing Costa Rica away on 26th March. The Reggae Boys got off to a great start in this stage of qualifying, earning a 0-0 draw away at Mexico.

Another three Royals are away on international duty - Hal Robson-Kanu, Chris Gunter and Simon Church are all called up for Wales' World Cup qualifiers. The Dragons play Scotland in Glasgow on 22nd March before hosting Croatia on the 26th.

Defenders Stephen Kelly and Alex Pearce have received call ups to Republic of Ireland's preliminary squad. ROI travel to Sweden on 22nd March before facing Austria in Dublin four days later.

Jem Karacan has again been called up to Turkey's preliminary squad - with the final squad to be announced on Friday. Turkey travel to Andorra on 22nd March and then play Hungary on the 26th.

Some of our youngsters will also be away - goalkeeper Jonathan Henly has been announced in Scotland U19s squad to face Sweden and Pierce Sweeney will represent Republic of Ireland U19s in a training camp in Malaga. Dominic Samuel is out of the England u19s through injury.

Academy duo Shane Griffin and Sean Long will join Pierce out in Spain. England U16s goalkeeper Lewis Ward has also been called up for a tournament in Nantes.
