Ikpeazu claims Maurice Evans Trophy
It's been a wonderful year for our youngsters on the pitch this season, and some of our outstanding performers have received deserved acclaim for their achievements during the 2012/13 campaign.
Striker Uche Ikpeazu
(pictured, second from right) claimed the Maurice Evans Trophy after a remarkable year with our under-18s in which he was by far our top scorer with 28 goals. He scored three hat-tricks as the Royals won a number of high scoring games, but the powerful striker also netted in important games at important times. It was a successful season
for our 18s, as they finished joint top of the Barclays U18 Elite League with Fulham, and were only denied the title of Premier League Champions by rivals Fulham in the final.
Under-16s goalkeeper Lewis Ward (centre) was elevated to the bench that afternoon, and he picked up the Steve Death Memorial Trophy. Lewis has been in fine form for the 16s this season, and has been regularly called up the England squad of the same age group. Meanwhile, youngster Noor Huisn (second from left) came away with the Maurice Edelston Award after an equally impressive campaign.
The trio were awarded with their trophies before our home match against Queens Park Rangers in April. Congratulations to our young stars!
