Youngsters have had "great experience"
David Dodds has every faith that the next batch of youngsters coming through the Academy has the potential to succeed here at Reading.
Dodds and Eamonn Dolan's under-18s have enjoyed a season to remember as they put two 11-game winning streaks together and reached the final of the Barclays U18 Elite League.
"They're a great set of players," said David. "It was hard for them to take [losing to Fulham in the Final] after winning 11 in a row but they've got to get used to that and it's all great experience.
"What we're looking to do is help the players go on to the first team. That's the bottom line and it's what we strive to do."

Dodds paid tribute to the players' development over the years - and likened this group of players to a few Academy graduates now playing in the first team.
"The lads have been well educated through the years in every age group, so that's credit to the part time coaches along with all the staff I have worked with.
"It's a long journey for these boys but think it's not dissimilar to when Eamonn brought through Pearcey, Jem and Hal together. I think this is another group similar to that that could come through together."
