"Get that winning feeling"

3 May 2013

Adkins challenges side ahead of Fulham

Manager Nigel Adkins has challenged the Royals to build on their recent clean sheets and clinch three points on Saturday at Fulham.

"The players are very focussed," Adkins said. "The mentality is that we've got to go away to Fulham. Can we build on the clean sheets that we've had? And more importantly, can we get a win?

"Anyone who knows me will tell you I want to win every game of football that we play in. The players have worked hard on the training ground, we've got over last week and there's a hunger and desire to keep improving.

"We've got three games left in this campaign and we've got to do everything we can to give ourselves an opportunity to get that winning feeling again."

Adkins has vowed to continue implementing his passing game on the side, but stressed the importance of playing effective, winning football.

"You've got to keep moving forward and evolve all the time. And you've always got to build on your successes - so when you're successful, that's the most important time to keep building, not just standing still.

"We want to adapt the way we play throughout the football club. We want to get the ball and move the ball but also play effective, winning football.
