Army enjoy special session
Taking on a team of legends at Madejski Stadium is not easy - and so the British Army are looking to prepare the best they can!
On Saturday 18th May 2013 the Royals will be celebrating 125 years of football in the Army by hosting a game between the troops and a team of FA Legends.
With this in mind, England under 21s coach Stuart Pearce has been putting the boys through their paces - ahead of the clash later this month.
In a unique game of youth versus experience, the England manager, Roy Hodgson, has agreed to manage the squad of selected stars whilst Pearce takes charge of the Army team for the day.
Jens Lehmann, Gary Neville, Gareth Southgate, Paul Merson, Ledley King, Matt Le Tissier and Dietmar Hamann have already been confirmed as players for the FA Legends side.
Tickets are keenly priced at £12 (£6 for concessions) and we are aiming for a full house at Reading. All proceeds from the match will go to Service charities that promote sporting opportunities for our soldiers, including our wounded warriors who play
sport as part of their rehabilitation.
The beneficiaries are The Royal British Legion and the Team Army Sports Foundation.
