Lincoln pleased with Cup winYoung goalkeeper Dan Lincoln hailed the entire under-21s team after they comfortably defeated Queens Park Rangers to progress to the last 16 of the Barclays Premier League Cup.
The Royals stopper was unlucky not to keep a clean sheet as Rangers grabbed a late consolation, with Lincoln a steady and reliable figure between the sticks in front of almost 800 Royals supporters at Madejski Stadium.
"It was a good night - we prepared all week," Dan told Reading FC Player. "We've lacked a bit of form lately but it was good to bring it all together and get a win on the night.
"I guess it was disappointing for both me and the team not to get that clean sheet - we win as a team and lose as a team, everyone takes responsibility.
"There were some great goals from really good team play. The first goal is just what the gaffer wants us to do - build from the back, go through the thirds and finish it as we did.
"The whole team played really well - Tish (Aaron Tshibola) gave a really mature mature performance in the middle of the park and you can really tell that Jake (Taylor) has been with the first team by the way he played.
"It was a really good performance from the lads and we hope to build on it."
