D'Ath joins Daggers

Midfielder completes loan move

Reading midfielder Lawson D'Ath has joined Dagenham & Redbridge on an initial one month emergency loan.

The 20-year-old has previously impressed in the Football League during spells with Yeovil, Cheltenham and Exeter - and will now look to get some more game time with Wayne Burnett's League Two outfit.

A product of our Academy, Lawson earned his first professional contract with the Royals in 2010 after a prolific season at under 18 level in which he found the net 18 times in just 23 games from central midfield.

Lawson made his Reading debut in the FA Cup against Stevenage in January 2012, whilst his first taste of league football came with Yeovil - scoring his first goal against Colchester United in just his second appearance.

The Oxford born youngster was part of the side that dispatched Queens Park Rangers 3-1 in our Barclays Under 21 Premier League Cup game in midweek - and did pick up a slight ankle knock early in that game, so could face a late fitness test for the Daggers' clash with Wycombe Wanderers this weekend.

The deal is subject to the normal paperwork ratification by the football authorities, and we anticipate that process will be completed shortly.
