The Royals have five Academy players away with Scotland this week.

Our goalkeeper Jonathan Henly, currently on loan at Aldershot, has another call-up for the Scotland under 21s, and drove up there on Tuesday evening after playing for the Shots in the FA Cup. His nation have an u21 qualifier against Georgia at St Mirren on Thursday night, and Jon will then come back south for the Shots' game at Halifax on Saturday.

We have four more call-ups for a Scotland under 18s training camp that takes place at Champneys in the Midlands, where our first team trained the summer.

Harry Cardwell, Zak Jules, Tom McIntyre and Jake Sheppard all joined up with the squad yesterday for a two-day camp, which is excellent for their development.

Striker Cardwell has two goals in 6(+3) appearances for our u18s this season, including a strike this past weekend in a 2-2 draw with West Brom.

South of the border, fellow young defender Jake Cooper remains on standby for England's u19s.

At senior level, Alex Pearce and Stephen Kelly are part of Martin O'Neill's first Ireland squad, and they play Kaspars Gorkss' Latvia this Friday night. Kaspars also has a friendly game with Yeovil next Tuesday.

Hal Robson-Kanu and Chris Gunter are in Wales' squad for a friendly against Finland on Saturday, while Chris Baird's Northern Ireland are in Turkey.
