Boss asks for 21s backing
Nigel Adkins has urged Royals fans to come down to Madejski Stadium on Tuesday evening and back the under 21s, as they take on Queens Park Rangers (kick off 7pm).
Reading are playing their first ever match in the Premier League under 21s cup, and the manager is hoping that supporters will respond to the news that entry will be free on the night.
"It's free for everyone to come down, so if we can get a bit of a crowd that'll be really good," said Adkins.
"I'd say to our fans get yourselves down there, support the guys. There's a signing session beforehand and so it should just be a good evening for everyone."
The game should give Royals fans the chance to see some of their future stars in action - and given a recent injury to Sean Morrison, perhaps cast an eye over our promising young centre halves.
"We brought Niall Keown with us to Blackburn. He's been training with the first team, as Pierce Sweeney did last week. They've trained ever so well, there's an interaction there getting them ready for the first team. We're very mindful that we want the youngsters coming through the system. I like to think that if they're going to get a chance they've got as good a chance as any coming through with us."
Here's Dominic Samuel's superb solo goal at Madejski Stadium last year.
