Michael on targetRoyals defender Michael Hector is currently on loan at Aberdeen, and scored a fantastic goal on Monday night as they beat Partick Thistle 4-0 to go second in the Scottish Premiership.
Picking the ball up 25 yards from goal after a free kick was worked to the edge of the box, Hector cut inside his man with his left foot, and then smacked home right-footed with absolute venom to send the Pittodrie crowd into raptures.
Dons boss Derek McInnes said with a smile after the game, "That wasn't in the scouting report when we looked at it!
"It was a great strike, and it's good to see players chipping in from all over the pitch."
Michael's night didn't end there as he also went on a marauding run down the right and sent in a super cross for the final goal in a 4-0 win. As an aside, also in his team was one-time Reading youngster Jonathan Hayes.
The 21-year-old is gaining great experience with the Dons, and it was in fact his first start in a month, having been on the bench for two games before not making the 18 against Motherwell last weekend.
He tweeted after the game, "Thanks for the comments, it's been crazy week, football can be a funny game but happy with my goal, assist and clean sheet. Fans were on fire!"
Former Royals midfielder Kevin Watson was watching the game on Sky and tweeted, "I believe I recommended Michael Hector to a couple of teams last season. The Reading centre back is on loan at Aberdeen and has smashed a 25-yarder in and produced pin point cross for 4th goal. He has a very bright future ahead of him IMO."
