Manager delighted with playersManager Nigel Adkins expressed his delight at his squad after two excellent weeks of training around the international break.
The boss said that the intensity has been spot on ahead of a busy fixture list for the Royals now, starting with a tough trip to Blackburn Rovers this Saturday.
"I've been really pleased with the players," Adkins told Reading FC Player. "We've had the international break, the lads have been working in the mornings and afternoon. They've put a good shift in and the intensity has been right.
"We've had a bit of a lull but the games are going to kick in. Obviously injuries and suspensions will affect all teams. We've got to make sure we're strong and ready for it. We've had injuries in the past this season but we've dealt with them and I'd like to think that we can deal with it over the coming months too."
The manager added that Leigertwood could play in next Tuesday's U21s Cup game at Madejski Stadium, which is free of charge to supporters to attend.
"He's a top man - a great bloke and a great professional. To be out for seven months is really challenging but to get his first 45 minutes under his belt was really pleasing. No pressure or expectation on him - we'll see how he recovers now. But all being well we can start stepping up the game time. The under-21s play QPR on Tuesday night at Madejski Stadium and it's free for everyone to come down. If we can get a bit of a crowd it'll be really good, whether Ledge can play in it we'll see.
"The way he was able to help and talk to some of the younger lads like Tish (Aaron Tshibola) can only benefit them. The experience that he's got does impact on them and helps them in the right manner. For me, that cascade learning is very important and Ledge is the type of person who can do that very well."
