Three Royals in Friday's matchThere will be Royals on opposite teams this Friday of the international break, as Kaspars Gorkss' Latvia take on Stephen Kelly and Alex Pearce's Republic of Ireland.
The Aviva Stadium will host the 7.45pm kick off, and Kelly is very much looking forward to the encounter with Gorkss - who is set to skipper Latvia.
"We have Latvia on Friday so I'll be playing against Kaspars, then we have Poland away on Tuesday so I've very much looking forward to them," the former Tottenham man said.
"It's always interesting when you come up against a team mate! Luckily it's a friendly so it will be a bit more jovial than if it was a qualifier - but like I say it's always nice when you play against a player of your team.
Kelly and Gorkss were part of the Royals side that drew 1-1 with Queens Park Rangers last weekend, and the full back was delighted to feature again in a Reading shirt.
"It was a good point and an even game," said Kelly. "Overall we played well against a top side that is going to be there towards the end of the season so these are the sides we need to take points off.
"It was a great spectacle. There were many great players on the pitch and it showed the standard of football that can be played at this level.
"For me, to be playing in the team is great - it's good to get back-to-back games. Hopefully I'll get a couple more games now for Ireland and come back fit and ready to go again."
