McCleary: Top match in store

6 November 2013

Winger ready for Rangers visit

Royals winger Garath McCleary is anticipating an entertaining game this weekend as fellow promotion candidates Queens Park Rangers travel to Madejski Stadium.

Rangers, who similarity have ambitions to return to the top flight at the first time of asking, take on Nigel Adkins' men in front of the Sky Sports cameras in the 12.15pm kick off this Saturday.

And McCleary wants the Royals to put things right against the Hoops following last Saturday's disappointing defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

"It was a freak game," Garath explained to readingfc.co.uk. "In spells we played really well, especially before they scored the first goal.

"In the first half we played some good stuff but obviously you've got to get that first goal and we were unfortunate not to.

"There are good signs but we all take the defeat as a team and we were all disappointed - that's from the goalkeeper right through to the attackers.

"We came away from the game disappointed but we hope to rectify that this coming Saturday when we play QPR.

"I've always said that this is a tough league and anyone can beat anyone. I'm sure it will be a very good game on Saturday against a team that are right up there looking to get back to the Premier League like us.

"Hopefully we can do our stuff this weekend and get the three points."
