Defender on emulating Jordan18-year-old Jake Cooper says that Jordan Obita's rise to the first team is great inspiration to all of our young players.
The towering centre back, who signed his first professional contract this summer, is delighted for Jordan - who has played regularly for the Royals since making his first league start away at Derby County in September.
"He's done great for himself, we look at him and hope to follow in his footsteps. We're all really good mates with him and are really pleased," said Jake.
"It's all about training as hard as you can and doing the best you can everyday and see where it takes you. I don't really set any targets, just take each day as it comes."
On the horizon for Jake and his under-21s team mates is a Cup game against Queens Park Rangers next Tuesday at Madejski Stadium, which is free to watch for Royals supporters.
"We've got a few friendlies coming up first and then there's the cup game against QPR here at Madejski Stadium so we've got that to look forward to," he added.
"It's a new cup competition and obviously we want to go into it and win as many games as possible. It would be nice to put in a good performance and get through to the next round.
"We're a young team that's developing and learning, and hopefully it'll come together between now and the end of the season.
"All the coaches are great and they all have the same philosophies. It's great to learn from different people and hear their perspectives. They all gives great advice and hopefully it will help us in the future."
