"They'll be right at it"

Pearce on Forest game

Royals defender Alex Pearce says the Royals will looking to play their normal football on the floor tonight in a tough test away at Nottingham Forest.

"It'll be a very quick-tempo game. They'll be right at it - they've been playing well under a good manager. We'll be looking to go there and play our normal game, get a foothold early doors and look to get a positive result.

"It's a fantastic ground and a big pitch, which will be a key factor. It will be a challenge for us to get the ball down and play good football, and pass the ball which is what we want to do. We want to create chances for our forward players but from my point of view we want to be solid at the back too."

The Academy graduate believes our clean sheet at Blackburn last weekend will be a fillip ahead of a busy winter schedule of fixtures.

"It was massive to get a clean sheet at Blackburn away from home. You build from the back - if we keep another clean sheet on Friday then we're in a great position to win the game.

"If you win a couple of games on the bounce you go right up there, but if you lose a couple you go right down. If we can stay around the top six come January then we can say 'right, this is where we've really got to kick on now'."
