Striker's first Shrews startRoyals striker Gozie Ugwu went straight into the Shrewsbury Town starting line-up this past weekend, after moving to the club on a youth loan.
Though Town were beaten 3-1 at Port Vale, Gozie was described as a 'shining light' as commentators praised the young forward for his display against the Staffordshire outfit.
He went close early on with a header, and then wasn't far away with a good touch and strike before having a very late shout for a penalty turned down.
Ugwu is set to make his home debut for Town this weekend, as bottom-of-the-table Notts County travel to New Meadow.
Elsewhere, Royals midfielder Ryan Edwards played alongside William Gallas this past weekend as the former Arsenal and Chelsea defender made his debut for the Australian side in a 1-1 draw with Adelaide United. Edwards played the full game, and almost scored in the first half with a header.
Our young goalkeeper Jon Henly also got 90 minutes of competitive football under his belt, as his Aldershot side were beaten 4-0 by Halifax Town - who preserved their unbeaten home record. Defender Nick Arnold, on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, missed out this weekend with injury.
Watch Ugwu score two excellent goals for our under-21s side earlier this season.
