Baird: Let's go on a roll

Chris on Doncaster delight

Midfielder Chris Baird believes the Royals are more than capable of achieving a good run of form, following a comfortable 4-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers.

Our Northern Ireland international returned from international duty and put in a solid 90 minutes to help Nigel Adkins' men to three points at Madejski Stadium.

"It was nice to get back into it after the international break," he told BBC Radio Berkshire. "It was a good victory for us as it keeps us in the play-off places. We played some good stuff and it could have been more. It wasn't just one person who scored, everyone is getting on the scoresheet and getting in on the act."

Chris has been at Reading for just over a month now and feels right at home, and says the fans' backing certainly helps the players' confidence.

"It's been great - all the players and staff have made me feel really welcome. I've settled in quite quickly, I knew a few players anyway which helps. It's been a great start for me.

"The fans were behind us at home, that's the main thing. When they're behind us we're confident, and we're getting more confident all the time. We're all looking forward to next week's game now."

Millwall are the Royals' next obstacle in this Sky Bet Championship season, and although it'll be another tough one Chris believes our home advantage will be beneficial.

"It'll be another hard game - the Championship is never easy. But we're at home, we're confident and we'll be looking to get the three points again.

"We want to continue that (our home form). If you win your home games and pick up wins and draws away from home then you have every chance of getting promoted. We've got a good squad of players here and we want to go on a good roll and get more wins under us."
