Loan Round-up

24 October 2013

Latest on Royals out on loan

Defender Michael Hector helped Aberdeen earn a 1-0 win, ensuring a clean sheet was kept in an SPL win over Dundee United. Hector has impressed during his time in Scotland, and recently helped the Dons stroll to a 5-0 League Cup victory over Falkirk.

Royals youngster Nick Arnold played 45 minutes of Wycombe’s midweek clash at Portsmouth on Tuesday night – but it won’t count towards his career appearances after the game was brought to a halt at half-time. The Chairboys were level at 1-1 with Pompey when torrential rain took over and a swamped Fratton Park became completely unplayable – the game was postponed and will need to be replayed at a later date.

Nick has contributed to a positive run of form for the Buckinghamshire outfit, and played the full 90 in recent League Two victories over Bristol Rovers and Torquay.

Elsewhere, Daniel Carrico returned from injury to help Sevilla to a 2-2 draw at Real Valladolid last weekend, but he couldn’t help his Spanish loan side earn their first away win on more than two years – two late goals from Patrick Ebert and Manucho earned the hosts a point in La Liga.

Ryan Edwards played a part in Perth Glory’s goalless affair at Emile Heskey’s Newcastle Jets side, while Mikkel Andersen was on the bench for Randers’ draw at table-topping Midtjylland in Denmark.

Meanwhile, Matt Partridge’s loan stay at Basingstoke Town was extended this week and Karl Sheppard was an unused substitute for Shamrock Rovers at UCD.
