Latest from Madejski StadiumThere are a number of things to catch up on at Madejski Stadium this week - read our news round up below.
Our young midfielder Ryan Edwards enjoyed his first victory on loan at Aussie side Perth Glory this past weekend. The winger played 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over Melbourne Heart. Elsewhere, full back Nick Arnold has played a full part for Wycombe Wanderers in recent weeks - though fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat to Bury on Saturday, following a good win over Bristol Rovers in his last outing. In non-league, Nick's fellow Academy graduate Matt Partridge is still impressing for Basingstoke Town - helping his side to a 4-0 win over Dorchester Town. Goalkeeper Dan Lincoln has been recalled from his spell at Harrow Borough, whilst Jon Henly has joined Aldershot Town on a Youth Loan until 2nd January. Overseas, congratulations are in order for Karl Sheppard - who has been voted as Shamrock Rovers' Young Player of the Year, whilst Mikkel Andersen continues to catch the eye with Randers in Denmark. Finally, Royals fans may well have seen Daniel Carrico in action this week - as he lined up for Sevilla against the stars of Real Madrid! Daniel took on Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in a 10 goal thriller which saw his side defeated by seven goals to three.
No TV GamesThe Royals have received confirmation that none of their games in the month of December will be televised. Broadcasters have made all of their selections up until the new year, with Reading not set to feature. Fans however are reminded that our next home fixture, against Q.P.R on Saturday 9th November, will kick off at 12.15pm - and is set to be shown on Sky Sports.
Byte Night Success
The Royals recently took part in a charity 'Byte Night' event in town - as 1000's of IT and business professionals across the country slept rough to raise money and awareness for youth homelessness. Our Mascot Kingsley also popped down, and so we were delighted to hear that the Thames Valley event has contributed a massive £160,000 so far towards an impressive £1m total.
