Manager hails defenderManager Nigel Adkins praised the partnership of Alex Pearce and Sean Morrison as a third clean sheet in a row was vital in our dramatic 1-0 win over Leeds United.
Adkins described the Academy graduate's performance as 'superb', and highlighted the fact that Pearce is more than comfortable on the ball - to add to his colossal defensive attributes that we are so used to seeing now.
"I thought Pearcey was superb on the football tonight. People said he couldn't pass the ball - he can. He can defend as well, there's no question about that.
"We're trying to help him develop, he and Morro have been together all season as a partnership. It's three clean sheets now, and it's all about momentum.
"You look at Morrison and Pearce, they even had some great headers towards goal but we didn't quite capitalise on them.
"And Stephen Kelly came in and played right back for the first time this season, he had a good game. It's about utilising the squad, for example Hope Akpan got an opportunity when Jem went off."
