Adkins on the visit of BrightonManager Nigel Adkins says that Brighton's style of play will make for an excellent game of football this Sunday at Madejski Stadium.
Former Barcelona player and coach Óscar García Junyent is in charge of the Seagulls and has strived to continue the attractive brand of football that Brighton operated last season.
"Obviously they've got a new manager, they play some really good football and we're expecting a really good game at the weekend," Adkins told Sky Sports News.
"They haven't changed the way they play, the philosophy is still there. They've got some excellent players and they certainly play football the right way. They just missed out on the play-off final at the final hurdle, and I'm sure this season they'll be looking to go one step further."
The Royals go into Sunday's fixture after a start to the season which Adkins believes puts us right in the mix, and feels that - at this early stage - the Royals could even be sitting higher up the Sky Bet Championship table had one or two things gone our way.
"We won our first game of the season at home, which is the first time for many years that Reading have done that, so that was good. For me, we should have won the first five games of the campaign, unfortunately we got a defeat up at Blackpool which on another day we could have won.
"But we finished off the last game against Yeovil with three points and a valuable first clean sheet. So overall, we've got off to a start that puts us well and truly in the race.
"The Championship campaign is tough and mentally you've got to be right. If you look at teams that get promoted, they can actually lose a several amount of games - I think one team got promoted the other year losing 15 or 16 games. I think it shows that you've got to be able to respond to defeats that might go against you, keep a spirit with everyone working very hard and grind your way through a season."
Tickets are still available for Sunday's game, which is a 1.15pm kick off. Call 0844 249 1871 or visit readingfcdirect.co.uk to book.
